AI raises many philosophical issues. Some are about the nature of AI itself: "is AI really intelkigent?", "could an AI be conscious?". This then raises more fundamental questions such as "what is intelligence?" and if intellgence is so important we might feel threatened by A, what does that aay about the way we view people who are ore or less 'intelligent'. AI also raises issues in ethics and {[social justice}} – the choices we might make about how we balance risks and benefits ofAI, especially if these are distributed unequally. AI can also be used to help us think about existing ethical issues, indeed AI parallels are repeatedly used by those trying to grapple with the meaning of human consciousness.
